Hafa Adai Guam Society Members, Family and Friends,
An annual event in the Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia area is the Pacific Fun Day Picnic.
This event began under Reverend Meki To’alepai (Samoa) of Baltimore, in the summer of 1985 bringing local Polynesian music and entertainment groups and communities closer together for a day of fellowship and cultural sharing. This is a family oriented activity to share songs, dances, arts and crafts, talents and food. This not-for-profit event is put together by Pacific Islanders and friends with love.
The event has been held annually at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #89 at 2905 Old Largo Road, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20773 in Prince George County, Maryland. Details about the event are provided below:

9:00 AM – Vendor Set Up
11:00 AM – Opening Ceremony (GUAM) / Entertainment Begins (all day until dusk – by various performers)

GUAM is the host of this year’s festival picnic. This year’s celebration is dedicated to a strong supporter, volunteer & Pacific Fun Day BBQ Chef, Brother Benny Felix Taitague! Benny is the epitome of island hospitality and friendship and he was always the guy making sure the BBQ & Chamorro Rice was right at the picnic, donated by the Guam Society of America! Benny departed this life last year, but his spirit and memory lives on, especially at this event when he would make sure that the BBQ was ready as soon as the food line opened.

General Donations: $10.00 per car plus a potluck main dish or salad enough to feed the occupants of the car plus four (4) more adults. Remember this is a picnic to share our island food. This year we will be giving wristbands to PFD-goers and members of their party when they drop off their potluck item. This is to ensure that all potluck participants are able to appreciate the bounty of delicious, homemade food!
Bring your own chairs, tables, blankets, mats, umbrellas, musical instruments, voices, sports equipment, and in general – Pacific Island happy attitudes. Soft drinks, water, and paper products (plates, napkins, spoons, cups, etc.) will be available. If you have to eat with chopsticks, please bring your own.
Car Pool if possible as parking is limited.
ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL AT THIS EVENT!
Please use disposable containers for food.
Glass bottles or containers are not allowed in the park.
Vendor Space: $30.00; registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event coordinators request prospective performing groups or individuals to register, so that we can put together a program schedule that would provide continuous entertainment throughout the day. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
