2012 Guam Society of America Cherry Blossom Princess – Mariana Cruz
The Guam Society of America is proud to announce its 2012 Cherry Blossom Princess, Ms. Mariana Cruz. Mariana is the daughter of Anthony (Dededo, Guam) and Janet (Barrigada, Guam) Cruz, from Lexington Park, Maryland. She is a student attending the College of Southern Maryland. Mariana was the Captain of the 2011 College of Souther Maryland Women’s Volleyball Team and enjoys running, training for the Army Ten Miler, and Snowboarding. She plans to pursue a degree in Medical Technology after completing her Associate’s Degree.
Mariana will be crowned as the 2012 Guam Society Cherry Blossom Princess on Saturday, March 31, at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. Her reign as Guam Society Princess will be during the Society’s 60th anniversary as a member of the National Conference of State Societies. She was selected as the 2012 Cherry Blossom Princess during the Guam Society’s annual Chamorro Night celebration in October 2011. She looks forward to representing the Guam Society, its members, and our beautiful island of Guam during the Centennial Anniversary of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
