Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo, the U.S. Congressional Delegate for Guam along with Congressman Gregorio Kilili Sablan, the U.S. Congressional Delegate from the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, will be joined by distinguished guest, the Honorable Eddie Baza Calvo, Governor of Guam, to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery in honor of the lives lost during the liberation of Guam by the 3rd Marine Division and 77th Infantry Division in 1944. The event also serves as a reminder of all the sacrifices of the Chamorro people who suffered greatly during the island of Guam’s occupation by Japan in World War II.
